Abstract

This study aims to determine the emotional intelligence level of taekwondo athletes at Club Zubo Fighter and its role in supporting training and competition performance. Emotional intelligence is a crucial factor in martial arts like taekwondo, as the ability to manage emotions can influence focus, concentration, and self-control under pressure. The research method used was descriptive quantitative, with data collected through questionnaires from athletes actively training at Club Zubo Fighter. The results showed that most athletes had high levels of emotional intelligence, particularly in the aspects of self-awareness and motivation. However, some athletes still needed improvement in empathy and social skills to support more effective teamwork and communication. Overall, emotional intelligence was shown to positively contribute to athlete performance and discipline in training and competition.
