HUBUNGAN DAYA LEDAK OTOT TUNGKAI DENGAN HASIL LOMPAT JAUH PADA SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 2 DULUPI

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between leg muscle explosive power and long jump performance among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Dulupi. The research employed a correlational method. Correlational research is designed to examine the relationship between different variables within a population and to determine the extent of contribution between the independent and dependent variables. This study utilized a quantitative approach. The data consisted of two types of tests: measurement of leg muscle strength using a leg dynamometer and a long jump performance test measured in meters. The sample comprised 20 seventh-grade students from SMP Negeri 2 Dulupi, consisting of 10 male and 10 female students. Based on the results of data analysis and hypothesis testing, the findings showed that the correlation coefficient (r_calculated = 0.866) was greater than the critical value (r_table = 0.444), indicating a significant relationship between the independent and dependent variables. Therefore, the hypothesis stating that there is a relationship between leg muscle explosive power and long jump performance among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Dulupi is accepted.
