Abstract

The problem in this study is the lack of a comprehensive picture of student perceptions and the internal and external factors that shape these perceptions. The study used a quantitative method with a descriptive approach through a survey of 512 students. Data were collected using a questionnaire and descriptive percentage analysis. The results of the study indicate that student perceptions at SMA 1 Gorontalo are categorized as very good (9.56%), good (56.77%), sufficient (28.68%), and poor (6.17%). MAN 1 Gorontalo City has a very good (13.52%), good (52.45%), sufficient (28.64%), and poor (5.38%). SMK 1 Gorontalo City has a very good (11%), good (62.46%), sufficient (23.59%), and poor (2.93%). Factors influencing perceptions include interest in physical activity, personal motivation, knowledge of the study program, environmental support, and social image. However, interest in continuing studies remains low due to limited information, public perception, and a lack of understanding of career opportunities. Furthermore, there are differences in perceptions between types of schools, with MAN students showing a more positive level of knowledge and perceptions. This study concludes that student perceptions are generally positive, but increased socialization and information are needed to encourage interest in continuing studies in the Physical Education Study Program.
