Efektivitas Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Jigsaw Terhadap Kemampuan Tendangan Sabit Dalam Pembelajaran Pencak Silat Siswa SMP

This study aimed to examine the effect of the Jigsaw-type cooperative learning model on basic crescent kick technique ability in pencak silat learning among female students at SMP Negeri 8 Gorontalo. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research sample consisted of 18 female students selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used in this study was a stopwatch to measure crescent kick performance within 10 seconds. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired t-test after meeting the assumptions of normality and homogeneity. The results showed that in the pretest, the highest score was 22 and the lowest score was 11, with a standard deviation of 4.42 and a variance of 19.56. After the treatment, the posttest results showed a highest score of 48 and a lowest score of 35, with a standard deviation of 7.26 and a variance of 42.82. The hypothesis testing results indicated that the calculated t value (31.48) was greater than the t table value (1.740) at a significance level of 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Jigsaw-type cooperative learning model has a significant effect on students’ ability to perform the crescent kick in pencak silat learning. This model is effective in enhancing students’ active participation, learning interaction, and mastery of basic pencak silat techniques, and is therefore recommended as an alternative approach for physical education learning at the junior high school level.
